The Queens is a friendly & relaxed pub situated in Crouch End. As well as our regular customers, we also get quite a few tourists who seem to become instant fans & often return to us for every night of their stay. Our welcoming atmosphere is maintained by a close-knit team both front of house and in the kitchen under guidance of our Head Chef.

We are part of the Food & Fuel group who have a selection of individual pubs & cafe bars in London, all of which specialise in a relaxed & welcoming atmosphere, providing excellent fresh seasonal food, superb wines & specialist beers.

  • Manager

    Running a Food & Fuel pub is every pub managers dream! You will have responsibility for driving a growing and profitable business through choosing beers, wines and spirits that suit your business, developing fresh food menus and building a team of enthusiastic, engaged and professional people.

    To be a Food & Fuel Manager you’ll need a passion for outstanding customer service and great knowledge of all drinks and classic pub food. You’ll also need to be entrepreneurial at heart with proven financial expertise and business acumen.

    Most importantly of course, you’ll need to be a natural and charismatic host and leader, enjoy looking after people and be able to build & maintain a successful and happy team.

  • Assistant Manager

    As an Assistant Manager you’ll be a key member of the pub management team supporting the manager as the ‘right hand’ person in all aspects of sharing responsibility for the day to day running of the pub.
    The role is very hands-on and extremely varied encompassing people management, food and drink, customer service, pub maintenance and day to day pub administration.

    You’ll need some management experience as well as the ability to multi-task and communicate in a friendly and effective manner in a busy environment.

    On a personal note, you’ll need to be a real foodie; have a real passion for decent beer and wine; enjoy looking after others and help build and direct a happy crew.

  • Supervisor

    As a Supervisor you’ll be a key member of the front of house team – overseeing front of house team members to ensure a smooth and efficient service is provided to our customers.

    Ideally, you’ll have some experience in supervising a small team as well as the ability to multi-task and communicate in a friendly and effective manner in a busy environment.

    You’ll need to have a genuine interest in all things food and drink together with a real passion for looking after people and a keen eye for detail.

  • Team

    We look for outgoing, friendly people who have a genuine interest in our business and a willingness to take advantage of all the learning opportunities that we provide. Previous experience is always helpful but not essential, as long as you enjoy looking after people and have some flexibility to work during busy lunchtimes, evenings and weekends we would like to hear from you.   • Head Chef

    As Head Chef, you’ll play an important role as part of the pub’s management team with responsibility for the overall management of the kitchen team and day to day food operation.

    This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with your team to prepare and cook fresh, high quality dishes.

    You’ll need to manage high volumes with the right standards of food quality and service, meet gross profit and wage percentage targets and liaise with legislative bodies to ensure compliance in respect of food safety and health and safety.

    You’ll have the opportunity to input your ideas to the menu development process so you’ll also need to be a real foodie with excellent cooking skills together with experience in managing and motivating a team.

    As a Sous Chef you’ll play a key role in the kitchen supporting the Head Chef in the overall management of the kitchen team and day to day food operation.

    You’ll help to manage high volumes with the right standards of quality and consistency and efficiently run service in the head chef’s absence.

    This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with the team to prepare and cook fresh, high quality dishes and so your cooking and kitchen management skills will be of paramount importance.

    You’ll have the opportunity to input your ideas to the menu development process so you’ll need to be a real foodie and have the ability to help create a happy working atmosphere in the kitchen.

  • Chef de Partie

    Our Chefs de Partie undertake key roles in the kitchen and we’re looking for people with good cooking skills and experience of working in a busy, fresh food environment.

    You’ll have the opportunity to gain experience working across all areas of the kitchen supporting the Sous Chefs and Head Chef in a range of duties including fresh food preparation, cooking and menu development as well as undertaking kitchen management duties including ordering, stock control and ensuring food safety and cleaning standards are met.

    The potential here is enormous and we’re looking for an ambitious, creative and committed chef with a passion for good food.
