A Brief History - Mel's Vintage Beats & Breakfast

Mel’s used to be called Café Rouge, then The Open Page & before that The Nick, hence our tardis/’police box style front door! The area was bombed heavily during the war, but remarkably the building remained intact. We’re located in the famous ‘nappy valley’ area of South West London & Louis de Bernieres wrote Captain Corelli’s Mandolin while living in Earlsfield - we’d like to think that he was sat in our bar whilst writing his classic novel but this is purely conjecture!
